Green Planning: Waste

Dealing with waste. It can be a dirty job. One mechanism for cleaning up the process is to reduce the waste at the source. For your conference, try to minimize packaging. Here are a few simple things you can do:

• Provide recycle bins next to trash cans

• offer cartons of milk and bulk sugar instead of individual packets

• Display simple signs that state what can be recycled

• Use minimal packaging

• Provide/sell mugs for coffee with conference logo

• Compost--depends on food served
